Create a quote (with or without a template)

The following shows you how to produce a quote either with or without a template. Quote templates are ideal for jobs where the same details are used on a regular basis. Once a template is set up you can create a quote quickly and easily, as most of the content will be in place, leaving you to make minor changes and personalise for your customer. 

1. Start a quote 

Select START A QUOTE from the 'three bar' menu - OR select MY JOBS and then START A QUOTE, from the 'My jobs' screen.
Both approaches take you to the 'create a quote' screen.

2. You can use a template or not

To use a template, use the drop down menu to select a template.
If there are no templates, start a new quote by completing all the details.
When a quote is complete you can to save that quote as a template for future use. simple quoting and invoicing system

Depending on your mobile device or computer, the drop down menu will appear in different formats, but it will show the available templates. 
Select the template you require and click LOAD TEMPLATE.

The template details will load to the quote, leaving just the customer's details to complete.
If you haven't selected a template, start by entering the customer's details.
Start building the quote using ADD NEW ITEM and complete the details.
Give the job a name and amend the description if required.
Add confidential notes if required.
For each ITEM - add a description e.g. Labour - days, Materials - metres - this is the best place to put the 'units' e.g. days, metres, miles, etc.
Add the Quantity.
Add the Rate £.
Click SAVE to calculate the total.
Now add another item if required.

3. Make changes to the quote or template.

Click on the EDIT button, make the changes.Click the red SAVE button, to recalculate the total.

4. Add extra items to the quote

Click on ADD A NEW ITEM.
Add text to describe this item.
Add the units e.g. Labour days.
Add the quantity.
Add the rate £.
Click the red SAVE to calculate the total.. - add job details to template

5. Payment terms

Payment terms will appear if set up in 'My details'. If not enter them here.
To change the payment terms for this job, change the text within the field. improves credit control

6. Amend Quote sign-off message

The standard sign off message will appear as set up in 'My Details'
To change the message, type into the field.

7. View and email the quote

The draft quote will be presented. for sole traders

8. Back to My Jobs and Dashboard

After emailing the quote you go to My Jobs - you can your new job on the list.
